WIWS #5 & Answer Me This!

I love a good link-up. They're just perfect for both newbie bloggers (like myself) and seasoned ones who want to help connect others. I love it!

Today I'm taking a shot at answering Kendra's "Answer Me This" questions.

1. Are you becoming your mother?
I'd say! I think I've always been like my mom, but tried really really hard not to be for the longest time. But I eventually gave in and I think that's okay :)

{She doesn't smile for pictures, but I swear she's a smiler in regular day-to-day life}

2. Coffee or tea?
I've been a coffee addict since high school and love the stuff. My favorite way to drink it is in the fancy form of a hazelnut cappuccino or vanilla latte, but I can drink it plain with a splash of milk, too. I gave it up at the beginning of this pregnancy because a) I had been wanting to for Lent and b) I didn't know just how bad coffee might be for a baby and decided to play it extra safe. I'm slowly introducing it back into my routine, but not every morning and usually in the form of a pretty weak liquid.

I also love tea but primarily drink it in the winter. I ordered some fancy David's Teas a few months ago and they are yummmmmmy.

3. What foreign country would you like to visit?
I should say a country I've never been to before, because I do want to visit the whole world. But lately I've been aching to go back to Italy, especially with my husband since he's never been. I wasn't a very Catholic-y Catholic when I studied abroad there and I really regret not caring more about things like all of the wonderful religious artwork and visiting the Vatican.

{I lived a mere 3 minute walk away from the Duomo in Florence and completely took it for granted. I started going to English mass there in the spring, and an incredible Italian Easter mass...but I didn't really care. Laaaaame.}

{Even though I was a lapsed Catholic, I loved coming to San Miniato al Monte to think and journal. It was my favorite place in Florence. Funny how that works!}

{There are no pictures of me inside the Vatican. Who the heck goes to the Vatican and doesn't get a picture to say they've been there?! Again, mega-lame on my part.}

4. Do you cry easily?
I think I go through stages in life where I cry easier than other times. Right now I'd say I'm getting out of the early-pregnancy-cry-at-everything stage. We'll see how long that lasts.

I tend to cry the most when I'm frustrated, but I think I've gotten better as I've gotten older.

5. How often do you wear heels?
I wish I could say multiple times a week. I love wedges because I'm short and they're so easy to walk in. When I lived in New York City, I wore them a ton.

But now that I live in a college town in Texas, I only bring the heels out for special date nights or, on occasion, for mass.

6. Do you play an instrument?
Nope, and I never have. I don't have a musical bone in my body which is funny to me because I chose St. Cecilia as my Confirmation saint. (I just chose her because she was my mom's.)

Now let's move on to What I Wore Sunday!

{Hashtag no filter.....because I forgot to edit this before I emailed it to myself.}

Dress -- Forever 21
Shoes -- Macy's

Yesterday was the last Sunday before all of the students leave after finals. Mass during the summer is so much more chill, but every mass time is still filled with permanent parishinors, those taking summer classes, and families visiting the campus.

My parents made a detour on their way home from a weekend getaway to meet us for lunch. It's always so nice to see them and whenever we part ways, I feel sad that we don't live closer. When we lived in Connecticut, I wanted to go to college in California to be as far away as possible (oOoOh rebellious). My parents didn't like that, and I settled on a school in NY instead. Little did I know I'd be offered the chance to go to Italy during my freshmen year. It's just funny to me that as a little high schooler I wanted to be so far away from them, and now I get sad that they live three hours away.

Anyways, we met for lunch, and they surprised me with an early Mother's Day (awwwwww)/birthday present -- some maternity clothes! Oh my GOSH the shorts are so comfy. I see what all the fuss about maternity clothes is now.  They went to Motherhood Maternity and I guess if you're a new mom or newly pregnant, you get a little gift bag. There was a pacifier in mine (I'm sure they are in everyone's, ha ha) and I just about died. Does getting baby stuff ever get old? Maybe after your 10th child?

I hope everyone has a Happy Monday/Cinco de Mayo! Tacos for everyone!
